Our Focus
The Gandyr Foundation invests in advancing mitigation and adaptation initiatives in the climate field, with particular emphasis on the Bedouin population in the Negev. In parallel and in connection to this, the Foundation promotes processes aimed at embedding the principles of inclusive urbanism: connectivity, community, inclusion, sustainability, local economic development, and access to services.
The Foundation’s work lies at the intersection of these fields, aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and ranges from nationwide initiatives to local models that combine business and social activity.
Our Connection
The field of urbanism and climate began developing within the Gandyr Foundation in 2023, following years of involvement by Noa and Yoav Maoz in these areas. Through Proceed, the family investment company, they manage impact investments and financial and real holdings in these fields in Israel and globally. All potential investments in Proceed’s portfolio are evaluated through both social and environmental lenses.
In addition, Proceed is a partner in companies in renewable energy and real estate sectors. The business and philanthropic activities of Noa and Yoav share a common mission, complement and integrate with one another, and together create cumulative impact.
In Israel, where many pressing issues exist, climate often gets pushed to the margins and does not receive the proper attention it deserves. Therefore, we act to advance the field and bring it to the public agenda.
Grants
Out of a belief in strengthening civil society organizations, the Foundation has supported hundreds of initiatives, programs, and organizations nationwide since its establishment. In this field, grants are primarily directed toward civil society organizations operating in urbanism and climate. The Foundation supports the development and strengthening of these organizations’ infrastructures, as well as the innovative programs they develop. The Foundation upholds principles of partnership, learning, and innovation in all its actions.
